Prioritise your oral hygiene with littli

Nothing beats that feeling after a deep clean at the dentist.

Your teeth are whiter, your gums are healthier, and your breath is fresher. It leaves you beaming with confidence, not to mention eager to enjoy the meal out with friends you’ve been dreaming of all week!

But how can you keep your oral care up (and continue eating your favourite dishes) in-between dentist visits? Of course, you can book more appointments than the twice-yearly recommendations – but this isn’t the most cost-effective way to prioritise oral hygiene.

To help you out, the littli team has gathered some simple yet effective hacks to make prioritising oral care easy. If you find any of them particularly helpful, we would love to hear from you on Instagram

Tip 1: Use an electric toothbrush

It probably isn’t the first time you’ve been told to buy an electric toothbrush, and it won’t be the last.

In 2019, an 11-year study comparing electric and manual toothbrushes was published. They found that using an electric toothbrush regularly removes more plaque, reducing the risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and loss.

The littli-L1 electric toothbrush has been designed to support this evidence, featuring a high-frequency vibration of 48,000 TPM and a toothbrush head to target the most difficult-to-reach areas of your mouth.

Tip 2: Use a toothbrush with soft bristles

If your toothbrush has hard bristles, you might actually be doing more harm than good to your oral health!

The American Dental Association recommends using toothbrushes with soft bristles, as brushing too vigorously with hard bristles can cause detriment to the enamel and gums. We suggest finding a toothbrush that’s extra-kind on your mouth – and littli could be the perfect solution.

Alongside being easy to use, the littli-L1 electric toothbrush head is made of food-grade plastic with soft DuPont bristles. Simply give it a try, and you might be surprised by the results.

Tip 3: Eat teeth-whitening foods

Yes, they do exist! Many people don't know this, but some of the most popular snacks are known to promote good oral health, keeping your teeth pearly white by scrubbing the surface to remove lingering plaque and stimulating saliva production to rinse away bacteria.

These magic foods include celery, apples, carrots, and almonds (you can find the entire list from Colgate here). Combine them in a salad or eat them as a mid-afternoon snack, and start seeing subtle differences in your oral health. They are also good for your general wellbeing, making it a win-win situation!

Before you visit the supermarket to stock up on teeth-friendly foods, remember some of them are acidic. Make sure to follow up with a glass of water after eating them, followed by devoting a few minutes to cleaning your mouth with your littli-L1 electric toothbrush.
